Paleo Guacamole Recipe

Guacamole was first created by the Aztec’s and they called it āhuacamolli which translates to “avocado sauce”.

There has since been many variations, but the base ingredients of avocado and salt has not changed.

Traditionally guacamole is made with a mortar and pestle.

While you can use those if you have them, a potato masher is a good alternative.

Avocados do turn brown if they are left out so it’s best to make only the amount of guacamole you plan to eat.

Ingredients
  • 3 Haas avocados
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 medium onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 Roma tomato seeded and diced
Instructions
  1. Peel and remove the seeds of the avocados. Cut the avocados into cubes and place into a bowl.

  2. Squeeze the juice of the lime onto the avocado cubes. Mix till coated.

  3. Add the sea salt, cumin, diced onion, cilantro, and garlic to the bowl. Mix till well blended. Mash slightly with either a fork or potato masher.

  4. Cover with plastic and chill for one hour.

  5. Mix in the diced cubed tomato pieces right before you are ready to serve it. Enjoy!

  • 1 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
  • 3 Tbsp Honey
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
